The Stony Plain Volunteer Centre provides support and services to the volunteers and organizations within Stony Plain, Spruce Grove and Parkland County. The Centre continues to be an active presence in the community and grows to serve volunteering and community needs.

Community and Social Development is excited to share the What We Heard Report. This is a summary of volunteerism and civic engagement from winter 2023.

Stony Plain Council accepted the Volunteerism and Civic Engagement Strategy for information. This strategy is aimed at promoting wellbeing and healthy communities in Stony Plain by providing a framework for enhancing volunteerism and civic engagement. This strategy emphasizes community development and will be monitored over the next five years of implementation, ensuring it will build upon the legacy of the Volunteer Centre established in 1997. This strategy reflects a commitment to support civic engagement and volunteerism in the community for years to come, as outlined in the  2024-2026 Corporate Plan and 2024-2027 Strategic Plan.
