12th Annual Summer Sessions Return with One of Canada’s Most Recognized Country Acts: Doc Walker

STONY PLAIN, AB: Summer in Stony Plain is turning up the volume! The 12th annual Summer Sessions concert series returns to Heritage Park this June through August, bringing an exciting lineup of Canadian and international musical talent to the stage. These free, family-friendly concerts will light up Wednesday nights with live music and local flavour, offering a vibrant experience for residents and visitors alike.

Running weekly from June 17 to August 12, the 2026 series will feature special guests at 6:30 PM followed by headlining performances at 7:00 PM. Each event will feature food trucks and refreshments available onsite.

The biggest news? Canadian country duo Doc Walker will headline the final concert of the summer on August 12 in a special acoustic performance. 

“This is an exciting summer for Stony Plain,” says Mayor William Choy. “Doc Walker is truly iconic in Canadian country music and hosting them at Summer Sessions is something we are extremely proud of. Whether you’ve been to every Summer Sessions or have never attended, this is the year to come out and experience it.”

This year’s lineup is packed with a diverse range of talent, spanning genres from Latin Beats and Northern rock to soulful R&B and country:

June 17: Las Mambas with special guest Liz Lauer

June 24: Devin Cooper with special guest Two Laine Highway
July 1: Summer Sessions is paused in recognition of Canada Day

July 8: River Poets with special guest Danny Floyd Cole

July 15: Shelley Jones with special guest Kimesha Clarke

July 22: Martin Kerr with special guest Al Zilla

July 29: JJ Voss with special guest Rodney Gale

August 5: HAIDEE with special guest Chantelle Marie

August 12: Doc Walker (acoustic) with special guest Stella Johnson 

“Now in its second decade, Summer Sessions continues to play an important role in strengthening Stony Plain’s position as a dynamic, vibrant arts and cultural destination,” says Culture and Tourism Development Officer Chantelle Laberge. “Welcoming Doc Walker this year reflects the continued growth and profile of the series.” 

All performances are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. Performances will continue regardless of weather, plan ahead and enjoy the nature of outdoor music.
