2025 Municipal Election: Nomination Deadline Approaching

STONY PLAIN, AB: The nomination period for individuals wishing to run in the upcoming 2025 Municipal Election remains open until noon on Monday, September 22, 2025. If you’re passionate about Stony Plain and want to shape its future, now is the time to run for Council.

Residents over the age of 18 who are interested in running for the position of Mayor or Councillor may book an appointment with the Returning Officer to submit their nomination papers. Appointments are available during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by emailing election@stonyplain.com or calling 780-963-2151. 

Before accepting campaign contributions or incurring expenses, candidates must file their intent to run as per the Local Authorities Election Act.
