2025 Municipal Election: Official Candidates Announced
STONY PLAIN, AB: Nomination Day for the 2025 Municipal Election has closed and the official list of candidates has been finalized.
William Choy has been acclaimed as Mayor for the Town of Stony Plain. Archie Lillico has been acclaimed as School Board Trustee for Parkland School Division, Town of Stony Plain, and Jen Landry and Jo-Anne Stewardson have been acclaimed as School Board Trustees for Evergreen Catholic School Board.
Fifteen candidates have filed nomination papers for the six available Councillor positions. The official list of candidates is as follows:

The 2025 Municipal Election takes place on Monday, October 20, with voting stations open from 9 AM to 8 PM at:
- Best Western Inn & Suites – 3101 43 Avenue
- Heritage Park – 5100 41 Avenue
Advance voting locations and times are:
Stony Plain Community Centre (5008 51 Avenue)
- Wednesday, October 8 | 4 to 8 PM
- Friday, October 10 | 1 to 6 PM
- Tuesday, October 14 | 1 to 6 PM
Heritage Park (5100 41 Avenue)
- Thursday, October 16 | 4 to 8 PM
- Saturday, October 18 | 10 AM to 4 PM
Electors are reminded to bring acceptable ID and register before arriving for the quickest and smoothest voting experience. Voter registration can be completed in advance or at the voting station prior to casting a ballot.
Special Ballot voters are reminded that completed packages must be returned to Town Hall by 4:30 PM on October 20 to be counted.
