2025 Municipal Election: Official Results Confirmed
The official results are now confirmed for the 2025 Municipal Election. A recount conducted on the sixth and seventh place candidates under Section 98(1)(b)(ii) of the Local Authorities Election Act on Thursday, October 23, 2025 confirmed the unofficial results announced earlier this week.
The following six candidates have been officially declared elected to serve on the Town of Stony Plain Council for the 2025–2029 term:

Mayor William Choy was acclaimed for another term.
“This year’s election once again demonstrated the strength and integrity of our democratic process,” says Returning Officer Teresa Olsen. “The recount confirmed the accuracy of the vote count and the dedication of our staff and volunteers who ensured fairness, transparency, and compliance at every stage.”
A total of 2,796 ballots were cast out of 14,239 eligible electors, representing a 19.6% voter turnout.
