Annual Outdoor Movie Returns as a Three-Film Feature

The Town of Stony Plain is bringing back the annual Outdoor Movie, but this year community members are in for a three-film special feature.

This year’s Outdoor Movie will take place at Heritage Park on Saturday, August 7. The evening will kick off at 3PM with Little Rascals, followed by Grease at 6PM, and will wrap up with Inception at 9PM. A concession and donut truck will be on site to provide guests with much-needed movie snacks.

“We wanted to try something new this year, and we thought it would be fun to provide more options for moviegoers. The first show of the night will be for families, the second show will be designed as a date night for couples, and we’ll wrap up the night with a thriller for our night owls,” says Tevra Graham, Event Coordinator.

“The Outdoor Movie has become a well-loved summertime tradition in Stony Plain, and we’re excited to be able to keep that tradition alive,” says Mayor William Choy. “Not just one but three movies this year! It’s going to be lots of fun for everyone.”

The event is free for all moviegoers. Guests are encouraged to bring their own seating and come dressed for the weather.
