Annual Town Christmas Ornaments Kick off the Holiday Season

The ninth annual Town of Stony Plain Christmas Ornaments are ushering in the holiday season! This year’s ornaments are crocheted snowflakes paired with a Town of Stony Plain charm. Ornaments will be available at the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce office from November 10 to December 16.

Each year, the Town Christmas Ornament is created in partnership with a local artist or organization. This year’s crocheted snowflakes were created by artist Susan Swan.

“The ornaments are a great way to kick off the holiday season and get our community into the spirit; it’s a wonderful tradition that brings a lot of holiday cheer to Stony Plain. Many residents have made it a point to pick up an ornament each year, and after nine years it really is quite the collection!” says Mayor William Choy.

“There has been such an incredible diversity of ornaments over the years, and it’s wonderful to be able to partner with artists to continue this Stony Plain tradition. We can’t wait to see this year’s ornaments on everyone’s trees!” says Culture and Tourism Assistant Richelle Jomha.

Stony Plain residents can pick up a free ornament from the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce office (4815 44 Avenue) Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. There is a limit of one ornament per household and proof of Stony Plain residency is required. Ornaments will be given out on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
