Celebrate Halloween in Stony Plain with Three Exciting Events

STONY PLAIN, AB: Spooky season has returned, and Stony Plain is ready to deliver thrills, chills, and family fun with three community events: the Halloween Haunted House Hunt, the Walking Dead House, and a brand-new Trunk or Treat event!

The Halloween Haunted House Hunt kicks off on October 20 and will run until October 24, or until all five houses are found. Each day at 9 AM, a new clue will be posted on the Halloween webpage to guide residents to a hidden miniature haunted house. Once a house is discovered, a new one will be hidden until all five are claimed. Lucky finders can take the house to Town Hall at 4905 51 Avenue during regular business hours to claim their prize (limit of one prize per person).

On October 25 from 11 AM to 5 PM, Heritage Park will be transformed into the spooky playground of the Walking Dead House. This free event, hosted by the Town of Stony Plain in partnership with Parkland Search and Rescue and the Parkland Food Bank, offers two haunted house routes:

•    A family-friendly path (recommended for ages 0 to 8)
•    A scarier route for those ages 8+ seeking a bigger thrill

Beyond the haunted house, visitors can enjoy:

•    Axe Throwing
•    Photography Booth
•    Crafts
•    Balloon Artist
•    Magic Show
•    Reptile Show
•    Movie Showings (Films TBD)
New this year is Trunk or Treat, happening alongside the Walking Dead House on October 25 from 12 PM to 4 PM in the Heritage Park parking lot. Up to 40 local businesses and non-profit organizations will decorate their trunks and hand out treats. Families are encouraged to come in costume, and to bring a donation of non-perishable food or cash for the Parkland Food Bank.

"We’re thrilled to add Trunk or Treat to this year’s Halloween lineup," says Event Coordinator Lori Van Dommelen. "Between the Haunted House Hunt, Walking Dead House, and now Trunk or Treat, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and plenty of opportunities to celebrate as a community."

"Halloween in Stony Plain is about fun, creativity, and community spirit,” says Mayor William Choy. “I encourage everyone to join us at Heritage Park on October 25. Dress up in your best costume, bring a donation for the Parkland Food Bank, and make lasting memories."
