Collision Involving Accessible Transportation Services Vehicle

STONY PLAIN, AB: The Town of Stony Plain is providing an update following the collision involving one of its Accessible Transportation Services (ATS) buses on Friday, October 10.
All passengers and the driver who were on board at the time of the incident were treated for their injuries and are now home and recovering. The Town extends its continued concern and support to those affected.
The bus involved sustained significant front-end damage and is currently out of service. “Our team is doing everything we can to minimize disruption for our riders,” says Jerry George, Manager of Programs and Services. “While we’re currently operating with one less vehicle and one less driver, we’re adjusting schedules and working closely with our drivers to maintain service levels wherever possible.”
The Town is working with its insurance provider regarding next steps. Based on the extent of the damage, it is expected the bus will be out of service for several months.
Parkland RCMP continue to investigate the collision.

STONY PLAIN, AB: The Town of Stony Plain is aware of a collision involving an Accessible Transportation Services (ATS) bus earlier this afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 PM on Highway 16A, just east of Spruce Grove.
The bus, returning from Edmonton, was involved in a head-on collision with a half-ton truck travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes. At the time of the collision, two passengers and one driver were on board the ATS vehicle.
Emergency services, including Parkland RCMP and ambulance personnel, responded to the scene and are managing the situation.
The Town of Stony Plain extends its concern to those involved and will continue to cooperate fully with Parkland RCMP as they lead the investigation. Updates may be provided as more information becomes available.
