Bylaw 2673/LUO/23 Sun Meadows Lot 3 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment Approved by Council
At last night’s Council meeting, Administration recommended an update to the Land Use Bylaw (LUB) for the purpose of facilitating further development of the Sun Meadows neighbourhood. The subject area, Plan 1822573, Block 1, Lot 3, is the eastern most lot of Sun Meadows Stage 3. A redistricting took place in 2013 which enabled high density residential development but with a building height restriction for lots 1, 2, and 3. This update removes the height restriction from lot 3 only.
After second and third reading, Council has approved Bylaw 2673/LUO/23. The update to the Land Use Bylaw can be viewed on the Town website.

Bylaw 2674/LUO/23 5422 47 Street – Land Use Bylaw Amendment Defeated
Administration recommended an update to the Land Use Bylaw (LUB) for the purpose of facilitating the redevelopment of a lot within the Woodlands neighbourhood. The subject area is east of Highway 779 on the northwest corner of 55 Avenue and 47 Street.
The proposed amendment facilitates the redevelopment of a corner lot from a detached dwelling to a five-plex using the Land Use Bylaw’s R7 - Multi-Unit Building Residential District. This district is designed to encourage the redevelopment of suitable lots within older neighbourhoods.
After second reading, Council defeated Bylaw 2674/LUO/23.
