2023 Housing Strategy Update Presentation

ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. delivered a presentation to Council last night for information regarding the 2023 Housing Strategy, which incorporated the 2021 Federal Census data into the Community Profile and Housing Needs Assessment.

On January 24, 2022, Council accepted the Town’s first Housing Strategy to ensure safe, appropriate, and affordable housing to meet the current and future needs of the community. Council made a motion for Administration to bring the Housing Strategy back by the end of Q2 2022 to include the most recent Federal Census data.

Once the complete 2021 Census data was available, Administration retained ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. to update the Community Profile and Housing Needs Assessment to analyze the 2021 Federal Census data to understand how Stony Plain’s housing needs have changed. The update provided at last night’s Council meeting also included a scheduled review timeline for the Community Profile and Housing Needs Assessment to ensure the Town’s housing policies, objectives, and actions reflect current and anticipated community needs.
