Memorable Murals Book Presentation to Council
At last night’s Council Meeting, local author, Alexis Marie Chute, presented an overview of the process of writing her recent book, Memorable Murals: The Visual History of the Town of Stony Plain, Alberta.
In 2022, Ms. Chute approached the Town and Red Brick Common (formally known as the Multicultural Heritage Centre) about her desire to write a book outlining the history of the mural program in Stony Plain. Her presentation to Council highlighted the journey from idea to publication, and her dedication to capturing the historical tapestry of the Town’s mural program.

Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Society Presentation to Council
Members of the Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Society presented an update and overview to Council of their operations for 2024.

Council Accepted the Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Society Recommendation as Presented
In June 2023, members of the Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Society submitted a formal request for funding via letter mail to Administration.
At last night’s Council Meeting, following the Society’s presentation, Council accepted their update for information and directed Administration to bring the funding request for consideration in the 2024 Corporate Plan.
