Council Reflecting on the Future of Stony Plain During Strategic Planning Session
Council has concluded their annual Strategic Planning Session. Along with the Senior Administration team, Council conducted a review and considered the Town’s priorities and overall community development. The session is the key process to renew and reflect on the direction of the community and organization.
“This opportunity to evaluate and update our Strategic Plan is one of the most important aspects of work our Council does,” says Mayor William Choy. “We are excited about the opportunity to advance Stony Plain toward a more prosperous future in partnership with our residents, businesses, stakeholders, and other levels of government.”
Council gave special deliberation to strengthening quality of life for residents and the impact and value of future growth. During this time, they also reviewed opportunities to deliver key projects and to establish needed facilities, amenities, and services. Council also discussed the impact of the challenging economic climate and the benefit of ongoing investment in critical infrastructure. These priorities continue to be a significant component of the Strategic Plan, as well as the Town’s resources and efforts for the next few years.
“Working with Council to understand their vision for the community is invaluable to me and my team. The Strategic Planning session is an opportunity to align resources and projects with our shared vision for Stony Plain’s future,” says Town Manager Tom Goulden.
The outcome of Council’s dialogue forms the basis of the Strategic Plan update. The Plan will be presented for approval during a Council Meeting in March.
