Farmers' Days Rodeo & Exhibition Kicks Off Summer in Stony Plain
STONY PLAIN, AB: Get ready to kick off summer – Farmers’ Days-style! The Town of Stony Plain and the Stony Plain Kinsmen Club are excited to host the 2023 Farmers’ Days Rodeo and Exhibition from June 2 through to June 4 at the Heritage Park grounds.
This year’s event will see the return of fan favourites including the rodeo, midway rides, West Parkland Gas Co-op Parade, Mayor and Council’s Pancake Breakfast, Kids Korral, marketplace with over 100 vendors, and beer gardens with live entertainment.
The weekend of festivities will begin on Friday, June 2 with midway rides opening at 3 PM. An all-day ride wristband will be available for purchase on-site for $40. Mayor and Council’s Pancake Breakfast will be hosted at the Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum on Saturday, June 3 from 7 AM to 9:30 AM. Tickets for adults cost $2 with free entry for children under the age of five. Following the pancake breakfast, guests can ride the free shuttle downtown to catch the West Parkland Gas Co-op Parade beginning at 10 AM. The rodeo grounds will open on Saturday with the first performance scheduled for 2 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the arena gates.
“Farmers’ Days is the highlight of the year for many of our residents. An exciting component of this year’s event is that our Market will have over 100 vendors for the first time,” says Tevra Graham, Event Coordinator. “I hope everyone has a chance to come out and enjoy all their traditional Farmers’ Days favourites!”
“It’s not summer in Stony Plain without Farmers’ Days! It is wonderful to be able to spend the weekend together as a community, and I encourage everyone to come out and experience one of the biggest Stony Plain traditions, says Mayor William Choy. “I hope everyone is ready for pancakes!”
Parking will not be available on-site during Farmers’ Days; however, free Park N’ Ride services will be provided at various locations throughout the community. The shuttle services will be running throughout the weekend.
