Give Back this Holiday Season with Stony Plain’s Toys for Tickets Program
The holiday season approaching quickly, and Stony Plain is once again pleased to offer the Toys for Tickets program to spread the joy of giving. Bylaw tickets issued between November 12 and November 28 and marked with a Toys for Tickets sticker are eligible for the program, allowing residents to bring donations of toys or gift cards to Town Hall in place of their fines. Donations will be accepted until December 12 and will go directly to the Stony Plain Kinsmen Club’s Christmas Hampers. In the spirit of giving, the program is open to everyone in the community who would like to donate toys and help make a difference this holiday season!
“The Toys for Tickets program reminds all of us of what the season is about and represents the generous spirit, community and heart of Stony Plain. Now is the time to spread holiday cheer, every donation brings a little extra joy to a local family.” adds Mayor William Choy.
“The Toys for Tickets program sincerely reflects the generosity of our community; it gives us all an opportunity to come together and make the holidays brighter for local families who could use some extra support. It’s a wonderful way to give back and no ticket is required to participate. Each year, this initiative brightens the season for countless families, and we’re thrilled to see that impact grow in 2025,” says Community Peace Officer Supervisor Tiffany Anderson.
The program’s guidelines and criteria remain consistent with previous years:
• Toys must be new and in the original packaging
• Toys must be suitable for children 16 years of age or younger
• Toy value must be equal to or greater than $25
• New gift cards valued at $25 or more will also be accepted
• A receipt must be included with each toy or gift card donation applying to bylaw ticket payments
• Only municipal parking tickets with a Stony Plain Bylaw tag are eligible for the program; fines issued for Emergency Access, Handicap, Commercial Vehicle, and Dangerous Goods parking violations are not eligible.
“Through the Toys for Tickets program, your generosity has brought joy to countless families in our community this holiday season. We deeply appreciate your partnership in making the holidays brighter and showing these families that they are valued members of a caring community.” says Ed Berney, Chairman of the Stony Plain Kinsmen Christmas Hampers.
Toy payments and donations can be made at Town Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM until December 12. Additional information about the Toys for Tickets program can be found on the Toys for Tickets webpage.
