Transportation Master Plan Update

Administration provided Council with an update on the Town’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP), which guides long-term transportation planning and investment in Stony Plain.

The current TMP, adopted in 2021, established a 25-year framework to support mobility, safety, and connectivity as the community grows. Since its adoption, Administration has advanced several key initiatives, including traffic data collection, road safety reviews, traffic calming measures, pavement condition assessments, sidewalk and trail gap completion, regional transit enhancements, and speed limit reviews in residential areas.

As growth projections, development patterns, and transportation conditions continue to evolve, Administration noted that a refresh of the TMP will help ensure continued alignment with updated data, financial planning, and Council priorities. The update is targeted for completion in 2028 and will include engagement with residents, senior leadership, and Council before being brought forward for approval.

Council accepted the update for information.
