Environmental Master Plan and Stewardship Strategy Presentation to Council

Council accepted the Environmental Master Plan and the Environmental Stewardship Strategy for information. In early 2021, the Town hosted a second Sustainability Scholar to continue the work of the EMP and to begin the ESS. The initial EMP work blurred policy and action, leading to the need to create two separate documents – one for policy and one for action. The EMP was refined into a distinct policy document that included a vision, guiding principles, themes, and policies providing the foundation of the Town’s environmental framework. The ESS defines an Environmental Portfolio of Town environment initiatives and goals to establish a five-phase Action Plan to guide future initiatives and an annual reporting requirement to track and monitor their progress.
