Stony Plain BMX Association Presentation to Council
Stony Plain BMX Association is a community organization that promotes, operates, and maintains the BMX track on 49 Avenue. The Town provides an annual operating grant to assist with annual operations. At last night’s meeting, Martin Sommer, President of Stony Plain BMX Association, presented 2024 season highlights and plans for 2025.

Parkland Pregnancy Support Centre – Hope Beverly House Presentation to Council
The Hope Beverly House, operated by Parkland Pregnancy Support Centre, was launched in October 2024 as a new initiative in the Tri-Region. This initiative offers a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic violence through short-term accommodations and resources. Parkland Pregnancy Support Centre, a trusted local nonprofit which has been serving low-income families in the region for over 10 years, provided a presentation regarding the Hope Beverly House.

Council Accepts the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for the 2023 Annual Report
At last night’s meeting, Council accepted the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) for the Town’s 2023 Annual Report. This is the thirteenth consecutive year the Town has received the award.
The CAnFR is awarded to municipalities that produce an annual financial report that is not only easy to read and well-organized but also meets the criteria of the program standards. The report must exceed the basic generally accepted accounting principles and provide a clear and comprehensive view of the municipality’s financial state.

2025 First Quarter Report Accepted for Information
Quarterly reports provide a comprehensive overview of the Town’s operations, financial performance, departmental updates, and project progress. The First Quarterly Report serves as a key measurement tool to track the current budget and strategic priorities ahead of the Town’s Annual Report preparation.

Strategic and Corporate Plan Q1 2025 Report Accepted for Information
The Strategic and Corporate Plan Q1 2025 Report provides a progress update on actions and key initiatives from both guiding documents. Quarterly updates will continue throughout the year to track achievements and ensure alignment with the Town’s long-term vision.
