Highway 779 Construction Update – August 6, 2021

An update to the Highway 779 construction project has been provided by Alberta Transportation. The concrete crew will be machine pouring the median curb and gutter for the medians between 55 Ave and 49 Ave on today and tomorrow. The grading work for the multi-use trail along 79 Ave, between 48 Street and Willow Way, has been completed and crews will be placing the granular base material on the trail today and tomorrow as well. The concrete crews will pour the curb tie-ins and bull-noses on the medians between 55 Ave and 49 Ave on Monday August 9^th. Also, the guardrail will be installed along the alley extension to 50 Ave. The multi-use trail along 79 Ave, between 48 Street and Willow Way is scheduled to be paved on Tuesday August 10^th. Crews will place gravel backfill in the medians on Wednesday August 11^th. The concrete surfacing will be poured in the medians on Thursday August 12^th. Installation of the permanent signing will be on going throughout the week next week. Future updates will be provided weekly or as traffic accommodations change.
