Hydrogen Week April 24-28, 2023

WHEREAS; The Town of Stony Plain is proud of the Edmonton region’s longstanding leadership and expertise in the energy sector ; and,

WHEREAS; The world is transitioning to a net-zero future, and the Town of Stony Plain is ready to move as a leader within the Edmonton region to take advantage of this global opportunity for Alberta and Canada; and,

WHEREAS; The Town of Stony Plain stands ready to help meet Canada’s emissions reduction goals using hydrogen and the path to net-zero runs through the Edmonton region; and,

WHEREAS; The week of April 24-28, 2023 represent an opportunity for the Edmonton region to showcase its unique strengths in hydrogen production, adoption, use and innovation.

THEREFORE, I, Mayor William Choy, of the Town of Stony Plain, do hereby proclaim April 24-28, 2023 as Hydrogen Week.
