Lemonade Stand Day - August 30, 2026

WHEREAS the 13th Annual Lemonade Stand Day brings together thousands of young entrepreneurs, families, businesses, and community members in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation; and

WHEREAS more than 650 lemonade stands, led by over 3,000 enthusiastic Junior Lemon Squeezers, are expected to take part in this year's event, demonstrating the generosity, compassion, and community spirit that make our communities stronger; and

WHEREAS over the past 12 years, Lemonade Stand Day has raised more than $3 million to support life-saving pediatric care, helping ensure children and families across Alberta receive exceptional treatment and support through the Stollery Children's Hospital; and

WHEREAS proceeds from the 2026 Simply Supper Lemonade Stand Day will help fund NICView cameras in neonatal intensive care units throughout the region and northern Alberta, providing families with secure, live-stream access to their newborns and offering comfort, reassurance, and connection during some of life's most challenging moments; and

WHEREAS the Town of Stony Plain is proud to recognize the dedication of the volunteers, sponsors, organizers, and young participants whose efforts embody kindness, leadership, and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families across our region.

THEREFORE, I, Mayor William Choy of the Town of Stony Plain, do hereby proclaim August 30, 2026, as “Lemonade Stand Day.”
