Love Letter to Men: Join your Community for a Celebration of Men’s Mental Wellness

An evening of men’s mental wellness is coming to the Tri-Municipal Region. Community members are invited to attend a watch party for the second annual Love Letter to Men: A Celebration of Men and Mental Health virtual conference on February 15 at MR MIKES Steakhouse Casual.

The watch party will feature presentations highlighting the latest research on men’s mental health, resources and best practices, and conversations with the community. All community members are invited to come together to discuss men’s well-being and champion mental wellness awareness in the region.

Featuring keynote speaker: Clint Malarchuk, former NHL Hockey Player.

“Having open and honest conversations about mental wellness is vital for community well-being. No one should have to suffer in silence, but it can be difficult to ask for help,” says Mayor William Choy. “The upcoming watch party is a great opportunity for residents to come out, connect with their neighbours, and show those who may be struggling that they have a community of support behind them.”

“For many men, there are barriers and stigmas that prevent them from seeking help for their mental wellness. Creating spaces where people can come together and connect with others who have faced similar hardships is a powerful thing. Whether you are someone who is struggling with your mental wellness or want to show your support, I encourage you to come out to the watch party! Everyone is welcome,” says Wellness Community Development Officer Brooklyn Bignell.

The event is a partnership between the Town of Stony Plain, City of Spruce Grove, Parkland County, and MR MIKES Steakhouse Casual. The Love Letter to Men conference is hosted by The Alberta Men’s Collaborative, an organization dedicated to exploring and promoting best practices that support the health and well-being of men.

The watch party will begin at 5:30 p.m. and finish at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12 per person, which includes a $10 voucher for MR MIKES Steakhouse Casual. Tickets can be purchased online while supplies last. Community members can also register to attend the conference virtually at no cost.
