STONY PLAIN, AB: Summer nights just got better with the return of Midsummer Thursdays! Mark your calendars for June 19, July 17, and August 21 from 5 to 8 PM as Downtown Stony Plain transforms into a vibrant hub of music, food, and family-friendly fun. Following the incredible momentum of last year’s events which drew over 7500 people from across the region, this year’s events continue to amplify community, culture, and local spirit.

“This event continues to grow year after year,” says Chantelle Laberge, Culture and Tourism Development Officer. “It’s not only a chance for residents to explore downtown Stony Plain and connect with their neighbours, but it also brings visitors to experience the vibrant energy, creativity, and charm of our community.”

Highlights include:

  • Street market with local vendors and artisan goods
  • Food trucks and local eats
  • Live entertainment
  • Interactive activities and surprises for all ages

“Midsummer Thursdays play a key role in supporting the local economy by showcasing independent businesses, creators, and performers,” says Mayor William Choy. “These events are more than just summer fun: they’re a celebration of our community's entrepreneurial spirit, cultural vibrancy, and the unique charm of Downtown Stony Plain. You won’t want to miss out!”

To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead for temporary road closures and detours during the events. For full event details, parking information, and updates, visit Midsummer Thursdays.
