National Tourism Week - April 20 to 24, 2026

WHEREAS National Tourism Week is recognized each year as a time to celebrate the economic, social, and cultural impact of tourism throughout the nation, highlighting its important role in strengthening communities; and

WHEREAS tourism within Stony Plain contributes to economic growth, supporting employment opportunities, encouraging business expansion, and attracting investment, while also enhancing the quality of life for residents and providing quality experiences for visitors; and

WHEREAS the diversity of tourism in Stony Plain reflects its rich cultural history, community spirit, and business innovation, providing experiences that draw visitors from the region and beyond; and

WHEREAS partnerships among local businesses, government, and tourism stakeholders promote creativity and sustained economic stability, establishing Stony Plain as a desirable place to live, work, and visit.

THEREFORE, I, Mayor William Choy of the Town of Stony Plain, do hereby proclaim April 20 to 24, 2026, as “National Tourism Week.
