Genesis on the Lakes Stage 4B & 4C Land Use Bylaw Second & Third Reading & Public Hearing
Council adopted an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 2735/LUO/26 to facilitate the development of Genesis on the Lakes Stages 4B and 4C. Prior to Council’s consideration of the bylaw amendment, a public hearing was held in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.
The amendment redistricts the area of Plan 132 3523 Block B Lot 2 within the Land Use District Map from R6 - Comprehensively Planned Residential District to R4 – Mixed-Form Residential District.
South Creek Stage 5A & 5B Land Use Bylaw Amendment First Reading
Council gave first reading to Bylaw 2745/LUO/26, a bylaw to amend Land Use Bylaw 2735/LUO/26.
The amendment proposes to facilitate the next development stage of South Creek, enabling the creation of a second permanent access to Veterans Boulevard and a 72-lot subdivision comprised of various types of dwellings.
A public hearing will be held on September 28, 2026.
High Park Fill Line Front End Debenture Bylaw First Reading
Council gave first reading to Bylaw 2746/DEB/26, a bylaw to authorize debenture borrowing of up to $3.7 million for the construction of the High Park Fill Line Facility.
This work will contribute to the Capital Region Parkland Water Services Commission with the completion of a water line twinning.
Second and third reading of this bylaw are scheduled to be presented to Council on September 28, 2026.
Arterial Road Front End Debenture Bylaw First Reading
Council gave first reading to Bylaw 2743/DEB/26, a bylaw to authorize debenture borrowing of up to $2.4 million for the Arterial Road Network Capital Project. This project involves the construction of a new intersection at 28 street and Highway 16A.
Second and third reading of this bylaw are scheduled to be presented to Council on September 28, 2026.
Parks and Open Space Master Plan Update
Council accepted the Parks and Open Space Master Plan Update for information.
The Parks and Open Space Master Plan, provides guidance on the acquisition, development and management of parks, open spaces and outdoor recreation amenities.
Notable projects accomplished under the master plan include the development of the Park Space Guidelines (2023) and the Greenspace Analysis Inventory (2023).
