Alberta Parenting for the Future Association Annual Review Presented

Council received a presentation from Alberta Parenting for the Future Association (APFA), which included their 2025 annual report outlining the programs and services provided to families in Stony Plain.
The presentation highlighted APFA’s role in supporting strong, healthy families through community-based programs and the operation of the Family Connection Centre, which serves as a hub for families to learn, connect, and build supportive relationships within the community.

Assessment Review Board Appointments Approved for 2026 

Council approved the annual appointments for the Town of Stony Plain’s Assessment Review Board (ARB) for 2026. The Assessment Review Board is responsible for hearing property assessment appeals in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.

Council appointed Gerryl Amorin of the Capital Region Assessment Services Commission (CRASC) as Assessment Review Board Clerk and Raymond Ralph as Chair for 2026. Council also appointed Darlene Chartrand, Sheryl Exley, Tina Groszko, Richard Knowles, Marcel LeBlanc, Roland Merkosky, and Raymond Ralph as panelists for the 2026 Assessment Review Board.

The Town has been a participating member of CRASC since 2010, providing access to provincially trained and qualified Assessment Review Board members to hear both Local and Composite Assessment Review Board matters, as required by legislation.
