Land Use Bylaw Omnibus 2023, Bylaw 2671/LUO/23 Given First Reading

The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) Omnibus is a yearly process which provides administrative updates to the LUB and may also include Strategic Pan implementation. Council has given first reading to Bylaw 2671/LUO/23 to repeal Land Use Bylaw 2654/LUO/22 in order to provide a clean version with the updates.

A public hearing for the proposed bylaw amendment will be held on April 11, 2023 in Council Chambers.

2022 Year End Operating Results Provided to Council

The Town of Stony Plain has ended the 2022 year with an operational budget surplus of $1,012,566. The year-end result reported has not been audited and may change once the external audit is complete. Administration does not anticipate any significant changes at this time. The final audited financial statements will be presented in April 2023.

Council has approved the distribution of the $500,000 community revitalization grant between the Roads, Water, and Wastewater Reserves, and approved the remaining operating surplus to the Tax Levy Stabilization Reserve. Council also approved directing the 2022 Storm surplus of $165,824 to the Storm Capital Reserve.
