Regular Council Meeting Highlights for March 6, 2023
Asset Management Update for 2022
An overview of asset management activity in 2022 was presented to Council at last night’s meeting. Enhancing long-term capital planning and processes to guide investments in our infrastructure, and pursuing strategic investment in capital projects that support economic growth and diversification in our community with a keen focus on return on investment, are both key actions identified in the Strategic Plan.
Through the Asset Management Policy, the Town is working to manage risks and support the sustainable delivery of services. Since its approval in 2019, the policy has improved processes and the analysis of asset data. In 2022, the Engineering and Technology departments collected data and assessed conditions on the Towns stormwater culverts and sidewalk networks, conducted inspections bridges, digitized significant amounts of paper drawings, and expanded GIS capabilities.
