Councillor Hansard Recognized with 2025 Alberta Municipalities Distinguished Service Award

At last night’s meeting, Council celebrated Councillor Pat Hansard’s recognition by Alberta Municipalities with the Distinguished Service Award, presented to elected officials who have served 20 years or more on municipal council.
Councillor Hansard was nominated by the Town in June 2024 and officially announced as a recipient in August. She has demonstrated exceptional commitment to municipal government, serving five terms from 2001 to 2017 and returning to Council in 2021. By the end of the current term in 2025, she will mark two decades of service.

Strategic & Corporate Plan Q3 2025 Report Presented to Council

Administration presented the Q3 2025 Strategic & Corporate Plan Report to Council, outlining progress on key initiatives and measurable results from the Town’s guiding documents.
Approved in February 2025, the Strategic Plan defines the priorities and outcomes that guide the Town toward its long-term vision. The Corporate Plan ensures resources and operations are aligned to achieve these strategic goals.

2024 Year End Financial Trend Report Presented

Last night, Administration presented the 2024 Year End Financial Trend Report to Council for information. The report provides a detailed look at the Town’s financial performance over the past decade and offers insight into emerging fiscal trends.
Each year, Administration compiles key financial indicators to assess the Town’s long-term stability and compare performance with other similar-sized municipalities and the Tri-Municipal Region, helping to guide decision making and resource planning.
