High Park Fill Line Front End Debenture Bylaw

On August 24, 2026, Council approved the first reading of Bylaw 2746/DEB/26, a bylaw to authorize debenture borrowing of $3,700,000 for a water line running directly to the High Park Reservoir. The project, which was completed by the Capital Region Parkland Water Services Commission, was completed under budget. Since the first reading of the bylaw, Administration has decreased the borrowing amount to $3,000,000 and the maximum interest rate from 8% to 6% to reflect current market conditions. 
Last night, council gave second and third readings to Bylaw 2746/DEB/26 as amended.

Arterial Road Network Debenture Bylaw

Council gave second and third readings to Bylaw 2743/DEB/26 last night. This bylaw authorizes debenture borrowing of $2,400,000 for the construction of a new intersection at 28 Street and Highway 16A. Council approved the first reading of the bylaw on August 24, 2026. 

Stony Plain Public Library Budget Presentation

The Stony Plain Public Library presented their annual Board approved operating budget to Council last night. The library is requesting $884,400 in funding from the Town for the 2027 operating year, an 8% increase from the 2026 approved grant. Administration will include the requested budget amount in the 2027-2029 Corporate Plan for Council consideration in November.
