Stony Plain-Spruce Grove Trail Connection Moves to Design Phase

A detailed design for a trail connection between Stony Plain and Spruce Grove is in the works. In 2020, the Town of Stony Plain and City of Spruce Grove agreed to support a multi-use trail connection between the two municipalities.

A trail report was presented to Council during last night’s meeting. With consideration to cost and land use, an alignment trail on Highway 16A has been identified as the most preferred of three options presented.

The detailed design is anticipated to be completed in 2022 with construction beginning in 2023. Construction updates for the trail will be posted to the Stony Plain website.
