Securely Dispose of Sensitive Documents During Shred & Go

Stony Plain, AB: Get ready for Stony Plain’s annual Shred & Go event on Sunday, September 8 from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Rotary Recycle Center. This free event offers Stony Plain residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of sensitive and confidential documents.

Shredding is the best way to dispose of personal documents, including financial documents, medical information, account information (passwords and login information), personal information, mail, and more.

Rip N Shred Inc. will be on site with trucks equipped with cutting-edge paper shredding technology to ensure the environmentally safe and secure disposal of sensitive information.

In line with the Town’s commitment to environmental stewardship, this event supports the strategic goals of the Environmental Master Plan by promoting waste reduction and sustainability within the community.

“Identity theft is a serious issue, and it's important to take steps to protect yourself,” says Mayor William Choy. “Shred & Go not only provides residents with a secure way to dispose of personal information but also reinforces the Town’s dedication to environmental sustainability. I encourage residents to take this opportunity to do some decluttering around your home and take advantage of this free service!”

The following guidelines will be in place during Shred & Go:

• Shredding is available for Stony Plain residents only. Proof of residency (identification with a Stony Plain address) will be required on-site.
• Businesses are not eligible for free shredding.
• There is a maximum of 10 banker’s boxes of material per vehicle – residents cannot leave and return with additional material.
• Advance drop-offs will not be accepted. Please arrive within the 9 AM to 1 PM timeframe.
