Snow Removal Update- December 24, 2025

Stony Plain snow removal crews are continuing snow plowing and ice control operations as snowfall continues across the community.

Crews are focused on clearing priority roads only, maintaining safe travel conditions and ensuring emergency access during the ongoing snow event on arterial roads. Motorists are encouraged to use caution while travelling and give snow removal equipment plenty of space to operate safely.

Earlier this week, prior to the current snowfall, crews completed snow removal on collector roads and in school zones, including Brickyard Drive, 57 Avenue, the area around Meridian Heights School, and a portion of 44 Avenue.

Snow plowing and ice control will continue as weather conditions allow over the Christmas break. Residential snow removal is not scheduled over the next few days. When residential snow removal is scheduled, residents will be notified through the Snow Removal Newsfeed and must remove vehicles and other barriers, including basketball hoops and driveway ramps.

This update is being shared through the Town’s regular newsfeed to ensure all residents are aware of current snow conditions and where to find reliable snow removal information. Future snow removal updates will be shared through the Snow Removal Newsfeed only.

Residents are encouraged to visit stonyplain.com/snow and subscribe to the Snow Removal Newsfeed to receive the most accurate and up-to-date information. The webpage also includes the Snow and Ice Control Policy, the Snow and Ice Control Map, the Neighbourhood Rotation List, resident responsibilities, and information on free sand mix.

From the Town of Stony Plain, including our very hard-working snow removal team, to your family, Happy Holidays, and please stay safe.
