Snow Removal Update- December 26, 2025
Snow plowing and ice control operations continued across Stony Plain on Boxing Day as crews worked to maintain safe travel conditions on priority roadways.
Sanding was completed Friday on arterial roads, school zones, collector roads, and downtown streets.
Crews also continued plowing operations on arterial roads, including Range Road 11 and Glory Hills Road, as well as key routes throughout the community such as Golf Course Road, Veterans Boulevard, South Park Drive, 44th Avenue east of South Park Drive, and the North Industrial Park.
Plowing of arterial roads will continue on Saturday, December 27. As conditions allow, crews will begin moving into select collector roads that can be plowed to the side such as Fairway Drive.
Snow removal (hauling) operations are scheduled to begin downtown on Monday, December 29. Crews will then work through school zones and collector roads throughout the week. It’s estimated snow removal on all school zones and collector roads will be completed by Tuesday, January 6, weather and conditions permitting.
Following snow depth measurements taken in residential areas Friday, crews are reporting approximately 7–9 cm of packed snow. Based on current conditions, residential snow removal is planned to begin Tuesday, January 6, following the approved neighbourhood rotation schedule.

The residential snow removal schedule is confirmed. Residents are encouraged to visit stonyplain.com/snow and subscribe to the Snow Removal Newsfeed for notifications that will be sent through email the day before work begins in each area. Please help spread the word by encouraging neighbours, friends, and family to subscribe. Because conditions can change quickly, signage cannot always be guaranteed. Email notifications and web updates provide the most accurate and up-to-date information. When residential snow removal is scheduled, residents must remove vehicles and other barriers, including driveway ramps and basketball hoops, from roadways.
Snow plowing and snow removal follow Council-approved service standards and are completed based on roadway priority and compacted snow thresholds. Residential snow removal occurs only after these thresholds are met and does not follow the same priority order as plowing and sanding.
The Town of Stony Plain thanks snow removal operators and Public Works staff who continue working through the holiday period to support community safety.
