Snow Removal Update- December 27, 2025
While many residents are enjoying the holiday weekend, snow removal crews are out across Stony Plain addressing overnight snowfall and drifting to maintain safe travel on priority roadways.
Crews are focused on plowing arterial roads Saturday to maintain safe travel and emergency access. Arterial roads scheduled for plowing Saturday include South Park Drive, Golf Course Road, Veterans Boulevard, 44 Avenue, 49 Avenue, 79 Avenue, and Range Roads 11 and 12. Sanding will continue at slippery intersections as needed Saturday and into Sunday.
Plowing will continue on arterial roads on Sunday, including routes that could not be completed Saturday, such as areas in the North Industrial Park. Snow plowing and ice control priorities may shift as weather and road conditions change.
Snow removal (hauling) operations remain scheduled to begin downtown on Monday, December 29, followed by school zones and collector roads. Weather and conditions permitting, snow removal on all school zones and collector roads is expected to be completed by Tuesday, January 6.
Residential snow removal is still anticipated to begin Tuesday, January 6, following the approved neighbourhood rotation schedule, once compacted snow thresholds are met.
