Snow Removal Update- January 5, 2026
Crews have been focusing on removing snow in the downtown core and the driving lanes have been opened on Fairway Drive.
The time has come, Residential Snow Removal is beginning tomorrow, January 6.
Neighbourhoods are cleared in a rotating order, which is posted at stonyplain.com/snow. Snow clearing will not occur on garbage days, schedules may be adjusted to accommodate garbage collection days.
To help crews move efficiently and keep things moving for everyone, please be a good neighbour and:
• Remove all vehicles from the roadway
• Remove driveway curb ramps
• Remove temporary obstructions like basketball hoops
If vehicles or obstructions are left on the street, snow removal may be delayed for the entire block.
Due to the volume of snow, a contractor has been hired to assist with snow removal in residential neighbourhoods. This will allow one crew continue to focus on other priority roads, ice control and clearing Town parking lots.
On January 6th, 2 crews will be removing snow, one in the Fairways, and the other will be in Folkstone and The Brickyard. Signs will be posted at the entrances to where there will be snow removal. Not all streets will be sign posted. Residents are encouraged to subscribe to the Snow Removal Newsfeed to receive the most accurate and up-to-date information.
The third crew will be removing snow in the business back alleys downtown and then returning to widen collectors.
Crews intend to remove the snow back to the curb, this will require more than one pass on some roads, please avoid parking on the roads until all snow in the area has been removed.
