Stony Plain Adopts Team Up to Clean Up and Invites Everyone to Join In

STONY PLAIN, AB: The Town of Stony Plain is proud to introduce Team Up to Clean Up, a brand-new program to support a cleaner, greener community. Team Up to Clean Up is a year-round event for residents, groups, schools and organizations to clean up garbage and debris in parks and public spaces, supporting the Town’s broader commitment to stewardship and a healthy environment.

“Team Up to Clean Up is a simple but powerful reminder that we all have to play a role in caring for our community, and an excellent example of our environmental commitment as outlined in the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan,” says Mayor William Choy. “When we come together as a community, small actions can lead to lasting improvement.”

This new program opens opportunities for more participants to get involved in community. Groups are now able to sign up to host clean-up events throughout the year, no longer confined to the previous spring Pitch-In Week. Funding opportunities are also available for eligible groups to support special clean up events, including the Farmers’ Day’s Parade.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new initiative,” says Darcy Carter, Manager of Parks and Leisure Services. “It’s inspiring to see residents, volunteers, students and businesses step up to help keep Stony Plain clean and welcoming for everyone.”

All participants are encouraged to take photos during their clean-up efforts and tag the Town of Stony Plain on social media channels using the hashtag #TeamUptoCleanUp.
