Stony Plain Makes Way for New Off-leash Cat Park

Break out the catnip! The Town of Stony Plain will soon be home to the first-ever off-leash cat park in Stony Plain.

Feline lovers from all over the community will have access to state-of-the-art scratching posts, dangling feathers, animatronic mice (batteries not included), and empty cardboard boxes of varying sizes. The park will be located directly next to Umbach Dog Park and feature a custom pay-as-you go catnip dispensary.

“This is purrrfect for our community. Our new off-leash cat park is guaranteed to please even the most aloof and disinterested felines,” says Mayor William Choy. “We thought locating the cat park next to the dog park would foster connections within our furry-friend community.”

Town Manager Tom Goulden says, “I have a dog, but I have heard that cat owners have difficulty walking their cats between their 12-hour naps.”

The park was inspired by trending cat videos, designed locally, and tested by Off-Leash Cat Park Safety (OLCPS) certified cats. All visiting felines are asked to use the self-serve catnip dispensary responsibly.
