Stony Plain Water Restrictions Lifted

Update July 5. 2021: Reservoir levels have recovered and the water supply has returned to normal conditions. All water restrictions have been lifted.

---

Due to the recent hot weather, Stony Plain is now under Water Protocol B restrictions. Water Protocol B means there is a ban on non-essential potable water use for all municipal operations and a voluntary water restriction for the general public.

Residents and business owners are asked to voluntarily suspend all non essential water usage until the hot weather subsides.

Some examples of non essential water use would be: washing vehicles, watering lawns/gardens (collect rainwater in barrels instead), letting tap water run while brushing teeth or shaving, washing only partial loads of laundry and dishes, hosing down a driveway

We recognize this will be an inconvenience for you and ask for your patience. This restriction will help reduce our demand on the water supply and may prevent entering into a further water demand measure where we implement mandatory water restrictions.
