Tenth Annual Summer Sessions Set to Ignite Stony Plain with Spectacular Lineup

STONY PLAIN, AB: Get ready to groove to the rhythm of summer as the milestone tenth annual edition of Summer Sessions returns to Stony Plain! The concert series will once again transform Heritage Park into a centre of music and entertainment, with free weekly concerts scheduled from mid-June to mid-August.

Each Wednesday evening, starting June 12, Summer Sessions will treat audiences to an eclectic lineup of talented artists. Gates open at 5:30 PM, with special guests warming up the stage at 6:30 PM, followed by the headlining performances at 7:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy refreshments and treats available for purchase onsite or bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

“As we celebrate the tenth annual Summer Sessions, the anticipation and excitement can be felt throughout Stony Plain,” says Mayor William Choy. “This beloved event has truly become the heartbeat of our community, uniting us through music and cultural celebration. June 12: The Gecko Band with special guest Tania Ribeiro

June 19: Carter & the Capitals with special guest Todd Wandio

June 26: Russell deCarle with special guest Megan Paige

July 3: Payphones with special guest Kevin Frey

July 10: Whale & the Wolf with special guest Chris Arnold

July 17: Ollee Owens with special guest Ellie

July 24: The Red Cannons with special guest Mike Trudell

July 31: Shady Mavis with special guest Mike Chenoweth

August 7: Kaeley Jade with special guest Stephane Drisdelle

August 14: The Songwriters (Duane Steele, Jake Mathews and Phillip White) with special guest Tracey Fetter

“Each year, Summer Sessions grows – 2023 was a record-breaking year with 642 attendees on July 19 and then 715 (and 43 dogs) at the season’s closing event on August 2,” says Culture and Tourism Development Officer Chantelle Laberge. “As 2024 marks the tenth anniversary, this milestone is a testament to the vibrant culture of Stony Plain and the support of our community. As we unveil this year’s exceptional lineup of artists, I am thrilled to witness the magic of Summer Sessions continue to captivate audiences and shine a spotlight on local and national talent.”
