Town Launches Annual Citizen at Large Board Recruitment

The Town of Stony Plain is beginning its annual recruitment of residents to participate on multiple Council-appointed advisory boards. Applications for Citizen at Large boards are now open to Stony Plain and Parkland County residents.

Citizen at Large boards and committees provide information, advice, and recommendations to Council and Administration regarding important local issues.

The Town is currently recruiting to fill volunteer positions on the following boards:

  • Cultural Roundtable (CRT) – six openings, Stony Plain or Parkland County residents
  • Subdivision & Development Appeal Board (SDAB) – one opening, Stony Plain residents only
  • Stony Plain Public Library Board – two openings, Stony Plain or Parkland County residents
  • Tri-Municipal Leisure Facility Corporation Board – one opening, Stony Plain residents only
  • Community and Social Development Roundtable – three Stony Plain residents and one Parkland County resident

“Joining a council-appointed board is a great way for our residents to make an impact in Stony Plain,” says Town Manager Tom Goulden. “The boards are quite varied and there are several positions that are a good fit for a diversity of candidates.”

“The Citizen at Large boards provide an opportunity for residents to get involved and have direct input on important developments in our community,” says Mayor William Choy. “We encourage residents who are interested to learn more about each board and apply!”
