Town of Stony Plain Prepares for Updates to Tax and Utility Billing Services

STONY PLAIN, AB: The Town of Stony Plain is launching a new system to manage tax and utility billing.  While most of the transition will take place behind the scenes, residents will notice some enhancements to their bill formats.

Beginning April 2026, utility bills will feature a new design with enhanced details on usage and month-over-month comparisons. Property tax notices issued in June will also include an updated format. Account numbers will remain the same, and payment options-including in-person payments, online banking, pre-authorized payments, and the Tax Installment Payment Plan-will continue as usual throughout the transition.
“Investing in modern infrastructure behind the scenes helps ensure reliable service delivery for years to come,” says Mayor William Choy. “This update positions the Town to continue managing growth and community needs responsibly.”

“The system update will strengthen the foundation that helps us deliver great service every day,” says General Manager of Corporate Services Ann Laing. “Our priority is to keep delivering the dependable services residents expect while improving the tools to support timely and accurate tax and utility information.”

As of March 8, 2026, the current Online Service portal will become unavailable. A new online services portal will be introduced later in 2026, offering residents improved features with an updated and user-friendly design to access their tax and utility information.

This update reflect the Town’s commitment to delivering effective and efficient services as guided by the 2026–2028 Corporate Plan. For more information on what this means for residents, please visit Tax, Utility, and Online Services
