Upcoming Rail Crossing Reconstruction in Stony Plain

The Town of Stony Plain has received additional information from CN Rail about upcoming reconstruction on our local rail crossings. This work will result in an additional closure and detour of the Range Road 12 crossing tomorrow, August 1 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Alternative routes during this time include:
- Highway 779 (48 Street) Crossing
- 50 Street Crossing
- Golf Course Road rail crossing
- Veterans Boulevard rail crossing
- 47 Avenue
- 49 Avenue

STONY PLAIN, AB: The Town of Stony Plain has received information from CN Rail regarding upcoming reconstruction work on our local rail crossings. This work will result in subsequent closures and detours at the Highway 779 (48 Street) and 50 Street crossings between July 25 and August 1. CN Rail advised that the repairs are expected to take approximately three to five days per crossing, contingent upon favourable working conditions.
What to expect:
- Highway 779 (48 Street) Crossing: closed July 25 to July 30.
- 50 Street Crossing: following the completion of Highway 779 crossing, exact dates to be announced.
Alternate routes:
- Golf Course Road rail crossing
- Veterans Boulevard rail crossing
- 47 Avenue
- 49 Avenue
