Water Commission Line to High Park Reservoir Construction Update – May 29

Construction on the Water Commission Line to the High Park Reservoir is moving into its next phase, expected to continue until July 20. During this time, the following impacts will be in effect:

May 26 to June 22:

• Westerra Drive closed in both directions from Highway 628 to the north side of Westerra Close. Traffic will be detoured via Golf Course Road and/or Highway 779.
• High Park Road southbound lane closed. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the northbound lane from Highway 628.
• No parking along service roads on either side of High Park Road.
• Trail closure east of Westerra Drive within the parking and staging area.
• Sidewalk on the east side of Westerra Drive closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to the adjacent asphalt trail around the work area.

June 23 to July 20:

• High Park Road southbound lane closed from Highway 628 to High Park Reservoir. Two-way traffic will be permitted around service roads and the work area.
• No parking along service roads on either side of High Park Road.
• Trail closed east of Westerra Drive within parking and staging area.
• Trail closed north of Harmony Crescent to High Park Reservoir.

Signage will be installed to help manage traffic flow, especially during peak travel times. Parents are encouraged to review potential impacts to school commutes and make a plan to help children feel comfortable navigating the area safely.

This work is part of a regional initiative from the Water Commission to extend the water line from Spruce Grove to the High Park Reservoir, an important initiative that will support Stony Plain’s future growth.
