57 Avenue Construction Update - July 19
Beginning July 19, 57 Avenue from West of Heritage Crescent to Highway 779 will be under construction as 1.1 km of Full Depth Reclamation (FDR), Asphalt Concrete Pavement overlay and line painting is completed. The project is due for completion by August 25.
Residents and those directly affected by the construction were informed via direct mail and invited to participate in an open house to remain involved.
Construction Hours & Traffic Accommodation:
Signage has been installed in the neighbourhood before the project start date. Throughout the project, construction hours will be 7 AM-7 PM, Monday to Saturday. During this time, 57 Avenue will be one-lane alternating traffic with traffic personnel directing as required. Both lanes will be open outside of construction hours.
Parking:
No parking will be allowed on 57 Avenue during construction hours until the new pavement is installed. Residents have been encouraged to park on adjacent streets or driveways.
Waste Collection:
Waste collection will remain as regularly scheduled on Thursdays for the area. Any houses on 57 Avenue can place their bins out as usual, and the construction company (Knelsen) will move the bins back onto the property after collection. Knelsen will move the bins to ensure collection is not missed if there are any conflicts with waste collection and construction equipment.
