Annual Report Provides Overview of 2020
The Town of Stony Plain’s 2020 Annual Report is now available to the public. Each year, the Town publishes a report outlining major milestones, initiatives, and projects within the community as well as a clear and accurate financial report.
“The Annual Report provides our community with an accessible overview of Town accomplishments, future plans, and financial operations,” says Thomas Goulden, Town Manager. “Beyond showcasing the highlights of the year, the Annual Report works to remind us of our organizational goals and the steps we need to take to achieve them.”
Some of the highlights detailed in the 2020 Annual Report include:
- Creation of the Accessible Transportation Service (ATS) in partnership with the City of Spruce Grove
- Development of the Regional Transit Services Commission (RTSC)
- Downtown Redevelopment progression
- Groundwork for Stony Plain’s new local transit service
- Mayor’s Task Force on COVID-19
“Corporate Services works hard to present a detailed financial report to our residents,” says Jen Boleski, General Manager of Corporate Services. “For the past nine years, the Town has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. We are proud of our work and will continue to provide transparent and accurate financial reporting to our community.”
“It is an honour to produce the annual report on behalf of the Town. We strive to be leaders in government financial reporting, and the Annual Report is one of many reports we use to educate our community and strengthen our relationship through transparency,” says Teri Stewart, Manager of Financial Services.
“Our number one priority is our residents. We are committed to good governance and partnerships, economic opportunity, supportive infrastructure, community development, and environmental sustainability. These goals serve as our roadmap to ensuring a high quality of life for residents and a sustainable community overall,” says Mayor William Choy.
The Annual Report can be viewed on the Town website.
