Celebrate Local Culture with Alberta Culture Days
Celebrate cultural diversity and heritage with Alberta Culture Days! Residents are invited to join in on the month of cultural celebration, programs, and a weekend of events coming to Stony Plain on September 24 through to September 26.
Alberta Culture Days is a province-wide celebration of arts, heritage, and culture. Across the province, communities come together to celebrate culture and promote exploring Albertan heritage and diversity. Local festivities include a variety of free, family-friendly activities and presentations around Stony Plain beginning September 24. This year’s festivities will include demonstrations and activities from the Parkland Potters Guild, the Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum, the Stony Plain Public Library, the Stony Plain Youth Centre, and a food tour featuring local businesses.
“Stony Plain has an incredibly rich cultural history and Alberta Culture Days creates the perfect opportunity to honour and celebrate our heritage,” says Mayor William Choy. “Culture Days is a chance for our community to learn about and celebrate the diversity of cultural identities in our community.”
“Alberta Culture Days is a chance for our cultural leaders to connect with the community and promote opportunities for learning,” says Culture and Tourism Development Officer Chantelle Laberge. “We have such a diverse community of creators, storytellers, and business owners here in town and it is always fantastic to see residents and visitors engage with our local culture.”
Local Alberta Culture Days celebrations are family-friendly and come at no-cost to participants. For more information on Alberta Culture Days and to view a full schedule of events, visit the Town website.
