Come Celebrate Canada in Stony Plain!

STONY PLAIN, AB: Join the Canada Day celebrations! Stony Plain is celebrating Canada Day with a day of free family-friendly fun in the sun.

An event will be hosted at the Parkland Pioneer Museum grounds on July 1 from 10AM – 3PM. Festivities will include a big top tent circus, Indigenous cultural exhibit, kids’ activities and crafts, and a car show on Main Street.

“I encourage everyone to come out and join us in celebrating this beautiful country we call home,” says Mayor William Choy. “Free community events, such as this year’s Canada Day celebration, bring residents and neighbours together and foster community spirit within Stony Plain.”

“This year’s event has no shortage of fun for the whole family. From circus performers to a foam pit party, the celebration will feature an assortment of free activities for residents to enjoy,” says Event Coordinator Tevra Graham. “In addition to games and crafts, there will also be cultural exhibitions including Pow Wow dancers, Métis fiddler, traditional tipis, and a traditional Chinese dragon dance. There is going to be a lot of excitement!”

Parking will be available at Heritage Park.

Stony Plain’s Canada Day celebrations are supported by the Government of Canada. Visit the Stony Plain website to learn more about this year’s celebration and find event schedules.
