Community Recreation Facility Debenture – Bylaw 2693/DEB/24 Receives Second and Third Readings

STONY PLAIN, AB: At the June 10, 2024, Regular Council Meeting, Council gave second and third reading to Bylaw 2693/DEB/24, approving $31,451,871 in debenture funding for the Community Recreation Facility project.

“With the approval of the debenture funding, we are excited to continue moving forward with the Community Recreation Facility project,” says Mayor William Choy. “This facility will provide a vital space for our community to come together, engage in recreational activities, and enhance quality of life for generations.”

 In addition to the debenture, funding sources for the project include contributions from the Westridge Curling Club, Parkland County, as well as Developer contributions. The Town will continue to explore additional funding opportunities for this project.

With Council's approval of the debenture funding, the project is on track for construction to begin in Q3 of 2024.
