Meridian Reservoir Park Now Open

STONY PLAIN, AB: The park in the heart of the Meridian Heights neighbourhood officially reopened on August 27. Mayor William Choy and council members hosted the celebration and a ribbon cutting ceremony. 

This renewed green space contains a playground, basketball court and grassy area. The pocket park replaces the multisport courts that were relocated from Meridian Heights to the green space south of the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool. The new tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts opened in June of 2026. 

“This new park is a great spot for a picnic, a pick-up basketball game or to take the kids to the playground,” says Darcy Carter, Manager of Parks and Roads. 

“It was important to council to invest in our active outdoor spaces for residents to gather,” says Mayor Choy. “We hope this park will be a great spot for neighbours to spend time outside together.” 

The Meridian Heights Reservoir Pocket Park is located at 4501 43 Ave.
